Smithville Dam has limited parking, 4 to 6 vehicles, and no facilities.  It is recommended to portage around the dam and proceed to McArthur Park.
    However, it is a nice area with a natural spring and should be considered for a picnic or for fishing.
    Take-out is a small sandy beach above the dam to the right side of the river.
